Works of Mercy
The theme for Charity this year is Works of Mercy. Our vision behind this theme is to provide many opportunities to perform both Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. Depending on what various charities need, and in any capacity we can, our mission is to provide opportunities to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, comfort the sick, visit the imprisoned, and bury the dead.
Given the current climate of the world today, during a pandemic, many of these Corporal Works of Mercy may not be physically possible so we are also offering a Spiritual Work of Mercy in prayer. Every Wednesday at noon, starting on September 23, 2020, MOMS will go live in our MOMS Facebook group to pray the Rosary together. This will provide a consistent time that you can depend on a Rosary each week. We will also use this time to pray for specific charities, ministries at St. Francis, our priests and deacons, and your own personal intentions.
“I am giving you three ways of exercising mercy toward your neighbor: the first – by deed, the second – by word, the third – by prayer. In these three degrees is contained the fullness of mercy, and it is an unquestionable proof of love for Me. By this means a soul glorifies and pays reverence to My Mercy.” – Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul.
We’re so grateful to be a part of this sisterhood of MOMS and looking forward to growing closer to you in deed, word, and prayer.
